Mr. Kessler and his law firm has to be one of the most professional yet caring lawyers I have ever met. As soon as I walked into his office and sat with him I knew he was the one to hire. He makes sure you understand the whole process of what you are going through, he also always stays in contact and answers any questions you may have in a timely manner. Marijuana possession and paraphernalia possession dropped!
On September 9 I was pulled over for having dark tints in Port st Lucy. This lead to a search of my car. I was charged with less than 20 grams of marajuana and 6 counts of paraphernalia. I hired the best attorney I found, Mr Kessler, and that’s the best decision I could have made. Mr Kessler and his staff were beyond helpful. After Mr Kessler told me all the possible out comes,which none included what happened, I was ready for a stressful year. My first court date was set to November 3rd for an arraignment. On October 19 I got a call from his office….all charges and cases of marajuana possession and possession or paraphernalia were completely dropped and dismissed. I didn’t even go to court once. Honestly he’s the best lawyer there is. He is very straight up, gives you all the info good or bad and is just beyond great. i don’t how how I could ever truly thank him and his staff for being so great.

Miracle Attorney!!!! The biggest weight has been lifted from my shoulder. Although I am not a sworn officer I do work in the field of law enforcement as a civil investigator for the state. I am familiar with the court system and have sat as an expert witness on several occasions. That being said you can imagine my discomfort when I found myself accused (wrongly) of providing alcohol to minors. My career, good name and self respect were all on the line. I met with Mike and his staff through a recommendation from a friend. From the first call with his receptionist I was put at ease and scheduled my initial consultation.
I met with Mike approximately one week later. He was attentive and let me pour out my story pretty much without interruption. He then asked me several pertinent questions about things such as searches, location, what the FWC officer said and did, witnesses and so on. The entire time this interview was taking place Mike’s demeanor was one of calmness and concern for my situation, especially the fact that I could be terminated if I was found guilty or pled no contest to the allegations. Once the Q&A was complete he reviewed his notes and proceeded to explain exactly how he expected the case to proceed and the outcome he would achieve. He also explained clearly how his services were compensated and what I could expect from he and his staff during the course of the court proceedings up to and including a trial if need be although he seriously doubted it would go that far.
He calmed my concerns by detailing exactly how he planned on proving my innocence. As time went by and I received notices from the court regarding appearances I would immediately receive a letter from his office stating what if any action I needed to take. Not once did I have to call his office to ask ow I should proceed. A few days before my court date Mike and I had a twenty or thirty minute phone conversation about where we stood (young ASA was playing chicken with no evidence) and what I should expect. He also advised me on when I should arrive at court and how to dress. These things I already knew from my own career experience but I appreciated the care he took to make sure everything would go smoothly.
On the morning of my court date I was sitting outside the courtroom when Mike showed up. He made eye contact but did not come over at that point. He was obviously busy communicating with the ASA and representing my case to the state. After thirty minutes or so he came out of the court room and came and stood next to me. I asked him “how are we doing” and that is when he told me the ASA was playing chicken when they had no evidence. He also told me that they were trying to charge me with a statute that did not apply to my case. He said was giving the ASA a chance to digest that fact on top of the lack of evidence as he had just informed him of it. We chatted about family and kids and then a few minutes later he said “I will be right back”. He left, came back and casually said “you can leave if you want, I have to stay until the ASA informs the judge that the State is choosing Nolle Prosse”. I said “that’s it?” and he said yes, unless you want to stay and hear it for yourself. I thought about it and said “you know, after all the stress, I want to hear it.” He just grinned and told me what would happen from there on.
After the case was dismissed we walked out together and I thanked him sincerely for all his work and his obvious concern for my case. He said he was just sorry I had to go through all the stress in order to prove something we already knew to be true, my innocence. When I was referred to Mr. Kessler, and after researching him, I thought to myself, he only does high profile murder cases, so I’m sure I will not be a priority to him with a domestic violence case. The Kessler Law Firm’s fantastic job on my DUI case has drastically improved the course of my future. Being arrested for a DUI was one of the most challenging things I have had to deal with in my entire life (personally and professionally). The police report was chock full of embarrassing allegations, and even though many of the “facts” were embellished or wholly fabricated, I was on the verge of giving up after reading it.
After a DUI arrest, not many people will believe your side of the story or want to provide any comforting words. However, Mr. Kessler called B.S. on the arrest report during our initial consultation and assured me that “these types of cases are defensible.” Boy, was he right. I went from afraid and hopeless at the outset, to confident and emboldened at the resolution. After a lot of hard work, the Kessler Law Firm uncovered that my arrest was likely in violation of constitutional rights and set out to prove so in court.
Ultimately, Mr. Kessler and his staff of great attorneys, including Amy Ritchey, pressured the prosecution until they reduced the DUI down to reckless driving not involving alcohol (“dry reckless”). I was not convicted of any crime, the court did not suspend my license, and I will be able to have the whole court record sealed. Based on Florida DHSMV online records, this is a result that happened in less than 1% of DUI cases from last year in St. Lucie County. This result did not come easy, and I appreciate the hard work put in by everyone at the firm, including the legal assistant Tina. I cannot recommend this firm enough!

An Honest Man Willing to Stick up to and Fight the Stereotype Guilty until Proven Innocent
I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Kessler, a friend of mine recommended him and after our first meeting I never looked back or even considered another attorney. When you live in a world where law enforcement is no longer serve and protect (anything other than their pension), you need a good honest lawyer who is willing to fight for you. If you deal with anything in Port Saint Lucie, do not talk to them, hire this man. Port Saint Lucie will lie, coerce, and will do anything to try to make you look guilty and will accuse of stuff that never happened and then will expedite things to make sure you get publicly scorned and seen to try to make you look guilty or feel guilty.

Tactful, effective DUI representation
Mr. Kessler represented me in a DUI arrest in Martin County and came highly recommended. He was successful in negotiating a reduction in the charge to Reckless Driving, something that is happening less and less. His comprehensive, upfront fee structure (which includes trial if need be) gives defendants an edge, i believe. If the case is defensible, the client does not have to put an additional price tag on jury trial representation. Furthermore, the prosecutor is aware that he is ready for trial. In addition to what was a somewhat defensible case, Mr. Kessler’s timely negotiation with the state, his expertise and esteemed reputation were critical in obtaining the reduced charge. Mr. Kessler was also very informative and comprehensive in outlining each possible scenario – this made my decision easier. Considering the circumstances, the avoidance of harsher penalties for a DUI conviction, and the increasingly aggressive landcape in prosecuting DUIs, this was a “win” even though the charges were not fully dropped or acquitted. Sometimes, the office staff is a little slow in replying to queries during the case for non-pressing issues and he may have been able to better negotiated the sentences associated with the Reckless Driving charge.
